I really really like the Lincoln MKS. This is one hell of a sedan when fitted with the Eco-boost engine, and since no one ever thinks that something that looks like a bloated whale will be that fast, it is a fantastic sleeper.
In the looks department, it isn't as sexy as a CLA. Or an MKZ. Or a Fusion. Or a vintage toaster. But it is something rare that you give it a second look since it isn't a common sight.
But I am just justifying things that may not even be true, or that you probably don't agree with. What is undeniable about this loved car of mine is its shockingly enchanting performance.
0-60 5.3 Seconds.
This car is beating any sport compacts. Any V6 muscle cars. They are not up to the V8 muscle cars, but it can give them a run for its money. Oh and Ze Germans? They can only beat it with M,AMG, and RS badges.

I think it looks interesting, which goes a long way in a world of copied designs. And ive seen 0-60 as low as 5.0, which is as fast as a supercharged 4.2L Jaguar XF with 420 horses. Would make quite a sleeper.

and the ecoboost is tunable to over 435hp with simple bolt ons and tuning.
I'm a huge lincoln fan and I would drive one if I could afford it. You have my full support.

I agree with you completely. I just wish it was RWD.
I honestly can't wait for the next-gen.

the MKS
S
is a really good looking car (pre facelift at least) but I've NEVER seen one in the wild.
The ecoboost is also an incredible platform to mod. I've seen tuned ecoboost flex's taking down camaros at the drag strip.

So much yes here. I'm sure Montego man would approve here.

The tail lights are a let-down, but the dark headlights and Grille of the EcoBoost Appearance package are great. I wish the appearance package had been available with Kona blue.
And I am probably one of the few who actually liked the original grille, and is less of a fan of the new small-slat grilles.
Basically a stealthy alternative to Taurus SHO.
But I am pretty much done with trunks, though, and a much bigger fan of more versatile rear hatches... even sleek fastback ones.
If they had built an EcoBoost V6 AWD MKX, like an Explorer Sport, but 5-seats... that would have been interesting.

Hennessey is a VERY expensive route to go. Livernois or Torrie tunes are way more affordable and offer proven reliability.
I have an SHO and will be running catless downpipes and a tune from Livernois for a crank HP of ~440 (365 stock, 355 on MKS) and AWHP of close to 400.

My SHO will run ~4 second 0-60's after my tune and downpipes are installed. After a few other relatively inexpensive mods these cars will run sub 4 second 0-60's easily. They are definitely sleepers. I am so excited to go to the drag strip and surprise the fuck out of some people.

x100 yes! Although I am biased, I own an SHO, I was shopping of the SHO or MKS, whatever came available in a 150 mile radius with a 3.5EB. It ended up being a '10 SHO, black.
The awesome thing is, for $600 you can get a tune for these cars and add monstrous amounts of horsepower. Personally I am doing that + catless downpipes (can't wait to hear how it sounds, they are sitting in my apt right now, haha). I am told to expect 440hp at the crank (up from 365 stock). So I'll be working with close to 400 AWHP. 0-60's at 4 seconds, maybe better and a 1/4 mile of high 12's.
It's astonishing what kinds of cars the SHO/MKS will run with after a few relatively inexpensive upgrades.
All this for low 20's used. You seriously do get a lot for your money in amenities and performance potential.

Yes I'm sure they are probably better. I just never did a lot of research on ecoboost tuning companies but I remembered seeing that Hennessey video a while back.
I was just stating the fact that the Ecoboost still has a lot left on the table.

Yes, they certainly do and the transmission can reliably handle very much more horsepower than stock. I think 500 at the crank is a feasible number, although I'm sure, at that point, you are seriously reducing longevity of many parts, including the trans.

This isn't much of a confession, it is more a establishment of support to the MKS!

Exactly!! that Eco-boost is a hell of an engine! It has turned appliances into the Flex Ecoboost, Explorer Ecoboost, Tremor, etc.

If all you care about straight line acceleration then yeah I guess you can say this "beats" any sport compacts.

Oh absolutely. I always referred to straight line speed. I would never ever suggest this thing to be Agile, or Nimble, or a Feedback machine. It is just a luxury hot-rod, and that fine by me since it was designed to be like that since the 1st day of production.
